Overview of the course
Our inaugural Cancer Care Conference offers an exceptional educational opportunity for healthcare professionals involved in cancer care. This event is designed for both primary and secondary care clinicians, bringing together GPs, allied health professionals (AHPs), practice nurses, emergency department (ED) doctors and nurses, medics, cancer nurses, and acute oncology service (AOS) clinicians.
Learning outcomes
By attending this conference, participants will:
- Gain insight into pathways for earlier cancer diagnosis and including NSS primary/secondary care collaboration.
- Deepen their understanding of oncological emergencies, including NS/MSCC, and explore the roles of ED, SDEC, and virtual wards.
- Develop knowledge of managing malignancies of unknown origin (MUO) and cancer of unknown primary (CUP).
- Enhance understanding of breast cancer treatment pathways.
- Learn to manage adverse events related to systemic anticancer therapies (SACT), including immunotherapy toxicities.
- Appreciate the complexity of emergency cancer presentations.
