Overview of the course

The FHFT Education Academy has partnered with clinical cancer care specialists at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust to develop a series of concise video modules, accompanied by e-learning, focused on the essentials of cancer care. These bite-sized videos are freely accessible to healthcare professionals working in any health or care setting. 

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, you will: 

  • Understand common oncology emergencies such as suspected neutropenic sepsis, metastatic spinal cord compression, malignant hypercalcemia, and superior vena cava obstruction. 
  • Recognise toxicities associated with systemic anticancer therapies. 
  • Manage complications related to central venous access devices. 
  • Support communication and documentation of cancer care via the UKONS triage tool. 
  • Gain an introduction to the Acute Oncology Competency Passport. 

Course lead

Our course is led by our specialist cancer care team who have extensive experience within healthcare and bring a wealth of knowledge and a passion for teaching, ensuring you receive top-quality education.
