Overview of the course
Our Intravenous Cannulation Course is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for safe and effective intravenous cannulation. Competency assessment must be achieved post-course through supervised practice with an experienced practitioner.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the principles and purpose of intravenous cannulation.
- Identify the anatomy and physiology of veins relevant to cannulation.
- Select appropriate equipment and materials for cannulation.
- Apply infection prevention and control measures effectively.
- Demonstrate proper hand hygiene and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
