Overview of the course
The Urology Training Program enhances learners understanding of common urological conditions and develops skills in performing urology-related bedside procedures. Combining lectures and practical skills sessions, the course covers key urological conditions through case-based discussions, simulation exercises, and supervised procedural practice. Topics include uro-radiology, urological emergencies, and obstructive uropathy conditions, with hands-on training in essential procedures like urethral catheterisation, bladder washout, irrigation setup, suprapubic catheter insertion, and basic flexible cystoscopy techniques.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the attachment, participants will be able to:
- Understand and describe common urological conditions.
- Perform essential urology-related bedside procedures.
- Engage in critical decision-making in managing acute urological scenarios.
- Build confidence in managing urological conditions.

This programme is led by Mr Mohamed Koura, urology speciality surgeon at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust

This course is ideal for healthcare staff who may care for patients with urological conditions and complications. This includes:
