Competency assessment must be achieved post-course through supervised practice with an experienced practitioner.

• Identify the anatomy and physiology of veins relevant to venepuncture. 
• Select appropriate equipment and materials for venepuncture. 
• Apply infection prevention and control measures effectively. 
• Demonstrate proper hand hygiene and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 
• Prepare patients for venepuncture and obtain informed consent. 
• Perform venepuncture techniques confidently and safely. 
• Identify and manage complications and troubleshoot issues during the procedure. 
• Provide post-procedure care and monitoring to ensure patient safety.
