So, it’s Blue Monday on the 20th of January – often called the “saddest day of the year” – we want to take a moment to check in with you. This time of year can feel really heavy.

The excitement of the new year may have faded, and many of us are facing with the reality of our resolutions feeling a little out of reach. If that resonates with you, we’re here to say: it’s okay.

We asked our team how their resolutions were going, and here’s what they shared:

Ernest Santos : “One of my goals this year was to walk 15 thousand steps every day for the month of January… Have I done that? NOPE! Out of the first 20 days of the year, I’ve only achieved it 10 times. But you know what? That’s still 10 days where I succeeded, and I’m learning to celebrate that progress while planning how to build on it.”

Kathryn Tolfree : “At the start of the year, I told myself I was going to cut down on drinking too much coffee. Have I succeeded? Not quite! I even had coffee whilst writing this newsletter. But I’ve realised it’s about finding balance, and I’m taking steps to gradually reduce my intake.”

Sana Shahid : “This year, I committed to reducing my between-meal snacks, and while I’ve been somewhat successful, there are times when stress tempts me to reach for something to munch on. To stay on track without guilt, I’ve switched to healthier options like nuts and vegetable sticks. Despite occasional challenges, I feel positive about sticking to my plan.”

If you’ve set resolutions or goals for this year and they haven’t gone as planned, remember: every day is an opportunity to restart.

Whether it’s adopting a healthier habit, developing a new skill, or finding ways to better support your community, small steps taken consistently can lead to meaningful change.
